Why are we all on the roads at the same time? This needs to change. The City of Austin can take steps like those that have been taken in Houston where city leaders are promoting flexible hours.

We can also promote more ride sharing. Austin has a ride share program, but it is largely invisible.
Now, a gas approaches $4 per gallon, we have a great opportunity to meet the challenges of traffic and of individual budgets by promoting more ride sharing.
With fewer cars on the road, you’ll get there faster, you’ll split the cost of a tank of gas and you’ll help make our air cleaner.
